Monday August 4th 2008

As we always read in bloggersphere, they claims that their blog is a do follow blog.

  • Why become do follow blog?
  • When is the right time to become a do follow blog?
  • How to become do follow blog?
  • Where to get do follow plugin?
  • Which is the best do follow plugin?

However the asnwer is only my theory. But as this theory is derived and yet to be prove as a good practice.

What is a do follow blog?

Do follow means you follow. It’s like when people ask,

"Will you follow me?

The your answer is,

"Yes."

Now, what is blog?
A website that displays in chronological order the postings by one or more individuals and usually has links to comments on specific postings.

Now what is a do follow blog?
A do follow blog is a blog that let the search engine spiders to follow your link that you leave at the comments section. Means a link back from that post to your homepage.

Why become a do follow blog?

There are several reason to become a do follow blog.

  1. Increase your content as the comments DO COUNT AS CONTENT by the search engine spiders.
  2. Appreciate your reader/commenters by giving the some "link juice" so they gain a back link and have a higher PR.
  3. Attract people to comments on your blog, especially for those who have a new blog.
  4. Attract more readers.

When is the right time to become a do follow blog?

I know this is kind of controversial, but everyone have their own opinion don’t they? So do I.

In my opinion, the best time to become a do follow blog is when you have high enough PR to be "disspose off".

What I mean here, there’s no point of giving a link love to your commenters if your blog is in N/A state. To decide the right time, you may consider my guide.

  • SEO Optimize your blog first still in no follow attitude.
  • Set the targeted PR that you will open your blog to become a do follow.
For me, I’ve set my mind I’ll do follow when I have PR5(Now PR4). This is also benefits my commenters as I share a link love from a PR5 blog. Meaning they have back link from PR5 blog! You can set lower PR ofcourse but not N/A state.

Why do follow when only if and if only you have PR?
The reason is, if your blog always follow other blog, while no blog follows you, the authority of your blog in search engine spiders will drop. It’s like when we see this people as a follower an none of becoming his own leader. In other words, you will not get high PR.

How to become do follow blog?
