Paypal – What Is That?
This is one of episode in Blogging For Beginner.
Paypal is a payment processor for transaction online. ?It is not a bank. ?It is the most popular payment processor used world wide for example in the biggest auction site on internet, ebay.
While becoming the most popular, it is a heavy responsible for paypal to make their site as secure as possible.
But be as secure as possible means, they will become very fussy, and this turns off many people. ?Especially seller, or merchant. ?But they don’t have a choice, but to use what their customer want to pay with.
Yes, paypal buyer’s protection policy is very high to standard.
We can just open a dispute and chargeback our money if we find that the seller is dishonest.
But this system also have it cons.
Nowadays, the scammers are among the buyers.
They dispute even they have the item.
And the seller who don’t have tracking number with them are easily cheated, scammed, and paypal are behind these scam artist because the seller don’t have prove that the item have arrive at the buyer’s place.
But, we can overcome that problems by following the standard like providing tracking number, etc.
Create Paypal Account
It is easy to create a paypal account.
Just type, http://www.paypal.com on your web browser and click go. Or click the image above to bring you there. ?On the homepage, you should see a sign up button easily visible to your eyes. ?Complete the form and use your credit/debit card to verify your identity.
Before you can fully use your paypal account, you have to wait for the 4 digits expuse number from paypal to appear at your credit/debit card statement.
To check for this 4 digits expuse number, just see your monthly printed statement or checked using your online banking facility provided by your card provider.
After you verify the 4 digits expuse number, you are freely to recieve or sending money(shopping) in the internet.
But there’s one problem with Malaysian paypal account holder, we can’t add funds from our credit/debit card to our paypal account. ?But a problem, there always a solution for this. ?You can ask for someone who doesn’t need their paypal fund to transfer it to your account and you can compensate him/her in MYR instead.
Next we wil learn how to get your own .com domain name.

I agree that Paypal is handy, but they do pretty much have a monopoly over sending money online. So they can get away with charging very high processing fees. Hopefully Google steps up and fully challenges paypal with a personal version of Google checkout.

Personally, I have always enjoyed using paypal, I know their processing fees seem high, but it’s not too bad considering that they handle everything for us, and we as the “receiver” of the payment we don’t have to deal with the different credit card companies, etc. Paypal handles everything for us. I will say this… It is better to have one main solution, as opposed to many different systems. Imagine if there were like 10 different companies competing against Paypal… not having a “standard” is a bad thing in my opinion.
Till then,
Jean

I agree, I know there are other payment systems, but it is best to just stick to one.

Paypal is awesome! So many people have it in so many different countries that it means I can work with people all over the work and pay/get paid through a processor which is good for both of us.

Paypal is extremely handy, but beware of the high fees that they often charge. Have you ever heard of a bank charging transaction fees based on a percentage of the transaction?

I agree that Paypal is very handy, and worth making an account with. You will use Paypal plenty in the internet marketing world.

I can’t wait for Google to fully release their alternative to paypal. Then we might actually get charged reasonable fees. Until then we are stuck with paypal’s monopoly. I do agree that a monopoly may be better than having 10 competitors to paypal.

I think that PayPal can be thanked for really making e-commerce a reality for the masses. I don’t know what I would do without it.
