Success Amateur Blogger | This is a Personal Blog of Mine
Get Yourself a Webhosting
This is one of episode in Blogging for Beginner.
Now you have a domain name, next we will need a hosting.
A webhosting for our domain where we will put the files for the domain to create a website.
A blog.
In this chapter, we will shop for webhosting, so get ready your money!
A webhosting is a service provided by a web server provider to host your website on their server.
There are many various webhosting company that you can choose from the internet.
But for your own comfort, please find a webhosting with these criteria.
- Run php. At least php5.
- It have mySQL database.
- SSI enable. (Server Side Includes)
- It have cPanel X as manager.
- FTP access of course.
- Can add more than 1 domain. (Domain addon)
- Should give unlimited subdomain for your domain. Or 99, you never use it to that thought… Unless you are spammers.
But it good to have some plenty to use. - Have a good support.
- Give hosting space more than 1Gb for reasonable price. (Below RM100.)
The above image is the screenshot of my cPanel. ?As you see, my hosting is almost 10Gb, that is big eh?
I don’t even use up to 1Gb.
While most of other blogger choose to be with more expensive webhosting, I go with SealServer.
Cheap webhosting with big space, 10Gb for RM100.00 (?USD$30.00) annually.
Plus almost 24/7 support via Yahoo Messenger.
Wow, what else can I say!
But there are also other hosting that I use.
This blog for example is hosted at Namsahaz.
If you see my blog is not online, you know whos fault it is.
Other webhosting service that I use is Rawanaz.
They are much more cheaper than SealServer, and offer big hosting space too.
But, the stability is not very pleasant.
I have 11Gb webhosting there with only RM100.00.
At the first appearance, they also offer support via YM.
But recently they are very not responsive through YM, I guess because they have install the online support at their main website recently.
But they are a good hosting company all this while.
And I’m sure you will amazed by how cheap they are.
I mean their pricing…
Just remember when you buy a webhosting service.
You get what you paid for.
Make The Purchase
You can use my the same hosting with me or you can search Google for more other webhosting company.
But for Malaysian, I advise you to take local hosting company so the it is easy when it’s come to payment and support.
So, you can either choose;
- SealServer ==>?http://www.sealserver.com.my/shared/
- Rawanaz ==>?http://rawanaz.com.my/hosting.php
- Namsahaz ==>?http://www.namsahaz.com/pages/features
Point Your Domain Name To The Webhosting
After you make purchase and verify your payment, please ask the webhosting support for dns or also called name server.
They look like these.
- dns1.sealserver.net
- dns2.sealserver.net
for sealserver,
Or
- ns1.rawanaz.com
- ns2.rawanaz.com
for rawanaz.
However, its not all webhosting use their own domain as a nameserver.
For example, namsahaz is using these,
- ns1.zelzem.com
- ns2.zelzem.com
Please verify the name server with your choosen webhosting.
After this, you need to login to your namecheap account and follow the steps below.
Login to namecheap. ==> Your Domains ==> Click the domain name. ==> Domain Name Server Setup/Transfer To Webhost ==> Fill in the name server in the box. ==> Click Save.
We are done! Congratulation!
After this, you will need your hosting provider to setup your account, and you will aslo need to wait for at most 48 hour for your domain to propagate on all servers around the world.
Next, we will get to know about the most blogging platform. WordPress.

this is a W-O-W! Very easy to follow. There are many things you need to consider before taking the plunge. The cheaper alternatives to professional web hosting services may not exactly be the best in the world, but if you know the things to look out for, you’ll be able to find a good one that can serve your web hosting needs. It always pays to do a research of companies offering affordable web hosting services. Remember, you wouldn’t want to waste your money.

I use hostgator and I love their service and value. I’ve had 100% uptime since I bought their hosting in January this year. Saying that I’m also with some smaller hosts which have been 99% up.

I have a few websites that I use with Hostgator, and I agree their service is really good, I also have some websites with thePlanet, and I know that they work together =D
Till then,

Any web host should let you use your existing domain. Facilities are generally pretty standard, but if you are looking for something in particular, just make sure the host you select has what you need.

They are pretty cheap and give you enough space for anything you need to do. They provide almost anything you could think of that you might need to use for your site, lots of one click installs for free, and you get a free domain when you
sign up.

It’s probably a fake hosting company or a sponorship from a real one… you could find out if any hosting companies sponsor the program or the channel the show is on… or you could just go to a hosting company of your choice… like GoDaddy.com it’s cheap and you can transfer your domain there.

It is very important to choose a reliable web host. If your website is frequently inaccessible, the search engines may drop your rankings. Plus you always want to be accessible to your visitors.

Simply a wonderful guide for new webmaster as well as old. Very in-depth, and I also enjoyed your WordPress article too. Thanks.

Don’t rush when picking a website host. I made that mistake when I launched my first websites. I went with one of the cheapest options I found. Over the years I have regretted that decision. Not only have they provided lousy support, but they have also been very unreliable.

This is great advice! There are so many potential options out there it can be very confusing to know which to opt for and what to look out for. Thanks.
