Congratulation to friendster team!

Friendster is the only social networking that I really use meaningly.
Some of the reason is because monst of my friends choose friendster.
And other reason is because it is more cleaner than any other social networking site.

For those who doesn’t know.
Friendster.com is facing a huge problems right now.

Their site is down for several days.
Some unknown source said that it is because there is a blackout in the data center that hosting Friendster.

But if so, why my hard found 200 ++ friends is disappear and there only 9 left!

From the a chat with my other friends, they facing worst situation where they have 3000++ friends and have been depleted into just 2!

My opinion said that this have nothing to do with the black out.
It seems that friendster have been HACKED!

I’m not sure either.
But, a blackout can’t make such a huge data loss.
And what questioned me, Don’t friendster backing up their database regularly?

I was so disappointed.
What I can do to recover my friends is manually add them.
How do I found them again?
Your friends should have leaving a comments right?
That’s make it more wierd.
The comments and testimonial are still there.

The Definition of SPAM

In my opinion:

• Useless.
• Irritating.
• Anger spark.
• Make my server loads more than it should.
• Steal my bandwith.
• Indication on how good your blog are.
  The more SPAM you get, means your blog is better.
• Stupid action!

1.  When the SPAM comment(s) is caught by your askismet.

What you don’t have askismet?
Go ahead and install this first.

Wheter you can,

1. Leave it, as it will be deleted after 30 days.
2. Delete it right away to save your mySQL database space.

2.  When the SPAM comment(s) passed the askismet filter.

When the SPAM comment(s) passed the askismet filter, meaning that particular comment(s) is published publicly where you can read it and your visitor also can read it.

Instead of click the delete link, you should click the SPAM link.

When you click this, the unappropriate comment(s) will be reported to askismet.
This not only helps you to prevent SPAM comments appear in your blog but also contribute to the whole communiti of bloggers who use askismet too.

Take the lesson, so don’t become a SPAMMERS yourself…

But for those who still didn’t find success anywhere, some one like me, I think we should figure out what is the main key for those success story coming from.

From what I’ve see, read, and heard…  There’s indeed one thing that we always forget and take it as easy and unimportant matter to determine our success in the future.

Let’s read what on my mind, what is it?

1.  Find Your Role Model

Well, we need some role model/idol not just to idolized them for fans sake.  This people is the guidance for us on what to do and what not to do.

For example, if you want to become a professional blogger, you may take Darren Rowse from problogger.net as your role model.  Find out what he do, find out how he write, find out what he avoid to do and etc.

It’s like saying, “Who You Want To Be?”.
As easy as that!

Now get your self your role model to guide your path.

2.  Do What Your Role Model Do

There’s no point of subscribing to their feed, their email news letter if you don’t read it and don’t apply what its written there.

See how is the writing style.
Try to make yourself as close as possible.
But of course, you can have your own style and unique identity to stand out of the crowd.
At least see what success people do, don’t be bold and proud of yourself.

See what type of product they promote.
See how they promote it.
And then you can try that method on your own.

If there’s any tips and tricks, any tutorials, or even advise, use it wisely.
Wisely mean, use and apply it still sticking to your own principle and your common sense.
For example, they teach you on how to send email promoting your product.  Apply it.
But when your role model teach you to send fraud email like an email that cloning paypal email to steal other people credit cards details to charge them for something that they don’t buy.  Don’t even thing to try it.

3.  Work Hard

There are no easy money.
Offline business or online business, we still need to put a lot of effort before we can enjoy the wealthy life style that you’ve been dreaming off.

Well, I’m not yet come to that level.
But I hope I will in several months later.

4.  Carefull With Your Words

Words are more powerful than a nuclear weapons.

Words are sharper than a swords.

Swords will harms you and make you bleed if it does.
But as the time goes by, the wound will heals and you’ll forget about it.

But words, will struck directly into someone’s heart and the wounds will be there forever as long as that people life.

So, whatever you do, keep careful what you said and write.
It’s not that I am advising you to keep silent and become a coward, but if there’s no point of benefits to say it, better not to say anything at all if you can’t say anything nice.

I’ve once, have write a wrong words, and the person pissed off and feel offended by no means from me.
And I don’t wan’t to repeat it again.  But there’s no forgiven for scammers!

5.  Make Friends

Yes, make friends.

In technical words, it is create your own networking.

There’s so many way to achieve this.  One of them is by the helps of online social networking.  Some of good example is Twitter.  Make friends with me on twitter by following me from the link below.

Why we should make friend even in online business?

One of the reason, is to help you if you need some assistant.
It is the same as having friends in the real world. (Not to say internet is a fake world.)

Someone with many friends at least will find someone will ease their way if they face some trouble.

Don’t forget God in everything you do.
Never put your back on God. 

Always pray for Him to blessed what you do. (What if you do a black hat way?)

Give 10% of your income to God, well ask your church if you not sure. (Haven’t done yet, shame on me… )

For Muslims, pay your zakat. I’m not sure about this but ask your Ustaz or Ustazah.

I don’t sure for other religion and beliefs, well tell me…

When I try to list item at ebaY US, it keep saying “ebaY did not recognize your computer”.  I have been twice talking to live assistant and give them what they want, still I cannot sell item to US.  But I wonder why I can do that several days before? :?:

ebaY Malaysia

I’ve been studying ebaY for quite a long time.
For those who still do not know about ebaY, it seems that you are living under the coconut shell eh?
Sorry, but that’s the truth.

ebaY is a place, a website in the world wide web where you can sell your product, new or used.

Many people use ebaY to get rid of their unused items in their attic or their garage.  But that’s not all about ebaY.

 

For me, ebaY is a potential source of income.

I am not yet selling my own things or items there.  Instead I sell other people’s things and products. Very nice eh?

But honestly, I’m not an expert or someone that called myself guru.

I can teach you how to sell in ebaY, but there are no special tips and tricks that I can show you.  I do it in a conventional way and manually submit my listing.  I don’t even know yet how to use the software called turbo lister.

This is a new beginning of me in my making money online activity.

So, do pray for my success!

The iPod Touch that I’ve won from UniqueBlogDesigns.com arrived yesterday.
It was shipped using UPS.

And it was taxed by the Malaysian Custom.  I have to pay the sum of amount of RM99.70.  Different from Fedex eh?

But, anyway I was pleased with the iPod.  It was a great gadget.  I’m a Windows user, so I have to install the iTunes software into my laptop and register the iPod.  Unfortunately, I can’t sign up an iTunes account.  To sign up for an iTune account, we need to have a valid credit card, which I don’t have right now.  I’ve tried to use my debit card but it was rejected. It said, “Malaysian Store Did not Accept Debit Card” something like that.  I’m wondering if we can sign up using a Virtual Credit Card? I bady want to sign up for it to enjoy the benefits.  Hmm… I think I should get one Visa card with me.  I don’t want to take a credit card is because I afraid to over spend and can’t afford to pay it later on.

After having some fun time with this iPod, I was very likely to say, it can be use as a bloggers tools.
Why I say that?

First, iPod Touch was invented with the same platform of iPhone.  It have all iPhone features except for the SIM card slot, speaker, and a phone function such as making a phone calls or sms.

So, we can say that iPod Touch is the degraded iPhone.  We can install an iPhone applications into an iPod Touch. Meaning, we can install wordpress tools(I forget what it’s name, it is an iPhone application.) and do our blogging while on the go, anywhere, anytime as long as we have an internet access.

iPod Touch is using WiFi as it’s communication port.
The speed and the reception was impressive for a hand held device.
It was better than my Nokia N80.

To surf the internet, we can use the Safari Browser.  It shows the webpage as how the real browser in the computer reender it.  I’ve tried to check my email, logging into my blog and manage my blog using it.  It was quite good.  The screen is too small? Not a problems anymore. We can zoom up to as big as 1000% to view it.  But the bad side of this Safari browser inside iPod Touch, it cannot displays flash. And javascripts are reenders at a very slow performance.

If you’re in a big city where there are wide WiFi coverage, I bet setting up the email feature in the iPod is quite handy.  It will notify you if there’s a new email.  You can read, reply, and even view attachement such as a excel spreadsheet, power point, words document, .pdf files, etc.

Well, I don’t want to talk about it’s music ability as it was and it is an iPod which is invented mean for music  pleasure.  So, it will never disappointed you.  It shouldn’t.  :-)

Overall, I am very happy with this iPod touch…
It makes me want to buy an iPhone.
But there are no legal distributor yet in Malaysia to sell an iPhone.
What? Ebay?
Yeah, I know there are some people sells iPhone there.  But it seems like a smuggled phone to me.
Sorry if I was wrong, tell me.  I’m not sure either, really.  To buy directly from apple, it will cost me ±RM7000 plus, excluding the tax.  I think I better buy a laptop with that amount of money. 

So, what is a great tools for you (Besides pc and laptop.) to help you in your online activity?

This blog has gone to take a little vacation a while ago in Manila. :p

Well, actually I was updating my database. Changing the database structure so that it will be more secure and hardly to attack using SQL injection.

I’m editing the .sql file using my Dreamweaver CS3.  Yeah, Dreamweaver can edit .sql files too.  Try it if you don’t believe me.  I just use the find function. ( ctrl + f ) and choose to replace all the match case.  Very convenient.

Still do not know what I’m talking about?
Well, this website is hacked once.  You can see/read my disappointment here at What a Good Luck!
So, as a future precaution, I change the table name wp_ to something_

More Secure Database Tables Prefix

This is practically can protect your blog from SQL injection attack which can delete your database, if it execute the sql queries of drop tables wp_ kind like that.  So, the precaution, is change it to something else…  Maybe your favorite celebrity name.  Like shaina_

But Seriously, it will make you got a heart attack if you tend to get things easy.

What a Good Host

I export the database and edit it, but when I try to import it back into the dropped tables, I can’t.  It said it have reach its maximum execution period.
But, fortunately the Namsahaz support team help me to import it and here it is my blog gone live again.

And then, I received an email from them again telling me to insert some code into the .htacces because my permalinks is broken.  Then I visits my the homepage and try to click any post link.  Well, it returns an error 404, not found.  Nice support!

I was referred by someone in a forums called Wang Cyber.  At the first glance, it instruct me to sign up and win the $100 Million Dollar.

Too good to be true!

So, I close the window and left.

But then, I see many people are promoting this.  So, I gave it a second change.
From the second visit, I sign up.

Micro Sleep

I will find a quite place or stuck my "cup style" earphone in my ear(without on the music) just to get relax and take a nap.  If you’re in the office, going to the wash room might be a good idea of not being disturb.

While if you’re in your house, just head to bed and sleep….

Do Breath Exercise

I always do breath exercise.  Besides putting out fire in your situation, it also reduce stress and yes, it cleans your lungs. So many benefits but never know it before eh?

Here’s how I do it.

1. Sit up straight, but in relax conditions.  Your shoulder should feel free.
2. Now take deep breath.  You should let the air go into your lungs and not your stomach.
3. Make a visions in your mind that the oxygen will flow into your brain. Works for me!
4. Hold it.
5. Then release.
6. Repeat 3-8 times. If you do it too much you will feel dizzy… Too much of a good thing will be bad.

Do Physical Exercise

When we do physical exercise, there’s a hormone in our body that called adrenaline.  This hormone is release when we do physical excessive, when we are happy, when we are excited, when we are afraid, and also while having sex!

Yes, having sex also a physical exercise! In fact, it was a pleasurable exercise, only if and if only done correctly…

For me, doing a push up or sit up is just enough… You can search Google for various kind of exercise that you can do.

p/s: Sometimes I exercise by practicing silat.

Take a Bath

Yeah, take a bath.  A spa treatment if you can afford it.  I never go for a spa treatment, I just take a bath.  Use shower to massage your back. A strong current may results a better satisfaction.

Take a Deep Sleep

Taking a deep sleep may refresh and restore your effectiveness.  When your work is effective and efficient, mean the burnt out feeling have gone!  Congratulation…

That’s how I overcome a burnt out situation while blogging or even at work.

And I know, web mail that provided in your cPanel is nothing compare to Gmail.

Here’s how to do it.

Redirect Your Email Into GMail

First thing that you have to do is, redirect your email to your GMail account.  Here’s how to do it.

Login into your cPanel.  And Click Mail.  See the red spot in the image below.  Your cPanel layout may vary from the one below.

A new page should appear.  This time, please click Forwarders.

After you have clicked Forwarders, a new page will load. Click Add Forwarder to open up another page.

Fill in your desired username in the first field area, and fill the last form with your GMail email.

The most important thing is,click Add Forwarder button before closing this page.  We are done with email redirection.

Setup Your Email Domain In GMail

After logging in into your Gmail, click Settings.  See the red spot in the image below.

Then click Accounts.  Then click Add Another Email Address.

You will be brought into new page.  Fill in your name, and your own domain desired email in the form.

Name - This is your name that will be revealed to your recipient.
Email address - Fill in this area with your own domain desired email address.  Example, yourname@yourdomain.com.

Then click Next Step.  Ignore the message prompt you to insert the verification code. Just close the page.

Now, GMail will send you the email into the email address that you insert in the field before.  But, it will be forwarded back into your GMail email because we have setup a forwarder beforehand.

Hence, check your email that coming from GMail team.  Click the link to verify your ownership.

We’re done!

Reply With Your Own Domain Email From GMail

Now, all email that sent to yourname@yourdomain.com will be forwarded into your GMail.

When you reply to others or composing a new mail, you can always switch between email by clicking the drop down menu in the From area.  Now, I hope that will be useful for you.  Good luck!

First, my Google Page Rank is 2. Yeah, last time it was in the 4th place. Today it is at the 2nd ranking.

And then, this is sure a good thing. My blog was hacked. All data is loss. Unfortunately, my hosting have the full back up. So, it was restored in no time at all. Ah, it seems that they make everyday back up. What a bad luck.

And then, when I was driving, guess what?
My tyre was worn out! God bless me! I have waiting for so long and now, it happened.
So I force my car to walk several kilometers with that flat tyre. Then I stopped at a motorcycle workshop.  Yeah, it’s a motorcycle workshop.  I know the owner, so no problems to get a new tyre from him.
And I was lucky that the tyre was not in their stock.  My rims are 15" wide and use thin tubeless tyre.  So I waiting with so much fun for about an hour before they manage to find the right tyre for my wheel.

Then, I walk home.  Oops, mean I drove home and then…

Praying that tomorrow will be always better than today. « This is a serious statement.

p/s: And Entrecard has change their policy.  I may stop using them if this continues like this.

Sadly to say that this blog is dropped from PR4 to PR2.

I do not know what actually happened. It’s two step down.
