Beware, Your Post Is a Link Farm!?

Do you realise that sometimes your blog become a link farm without you noticing it?

Link Farm Definition:

On the World Wide Web, a link farm is any group of web sites that all hyperlink to every other page in the group. Although some link farms can be created by hand, most are created through automated programs and services. A link farm is a form of spamming the index of a search engine (sometimes called spamexing or spamdexing). Other link exchange systems are designed to allow individual websites to selectively exchange links with other relevant websites and are not considered a form of spamdexing.

And for your information. Google penalized a site which is "suspected" a link farm site.

And you say, I’m not doing it.
Oh yeah?
Give me a minutes to explain that to you.

Tagging and Taggie

Many personal blog always play this.
How to play?

• You make a post with a links to your target blog.
• The target blog must copy your post and put another link to target other blog.
• This chanined games continue until the content is all about links.
  And no usefull information except links.

This is a link farming. Wheter you agree or not, this is a link farming. Well ofcoz it’s not that obvious, but it is.
So, please avoid this kind of games.

Increase Technorati Authority

This is other games, or a black hat SEO that play with the links.
This games is similar to the Tag & Taggie but the different is the host also update the links.
How to play?

• Make a post with links of your target blog.
• Then the target blog will copy paste the post and add another link into it as their new target.
• And go on.

The different is, anyone can contact the top host(Who start the game) and ask to join in the game. So the new comer will copy paste all the link and add some new link for a new target. And the host will update his link and any new comer also will have to copy the added link and so on. Different from taggie is, taggie just for the one who tag you. While the Technorati games, you can join in anytime.

Unfair Link Exchange

Have you exchange link with other blogger? Good. If you put the link on the sidebar, this is not a link farm. Why?

• The sidebar will appear all together with the content.
  When it’s is indexed, it’ll indexed together with the content.
• Different from the taggie and authority games, the content itself is the link.

Now beware of the cheater link exchange.
How to avoid cheater link exchange?

• Your link MUST BE AT THE SIDEBAR, HEADER, OR FOOTER which is spread all under his/her domain.

How to know if he/she is a cheater link exchange?

• She make a link exchange page.
• While you link from your sidebar blogroll, she put your link in that page.
  Now why she is a cheater!?
  For example. My blog is PR4(Indeed is now )
  If I put your link on my sidebar, that’s mean you get a back link from a PR4 blog, and backlink from all of my post!
  If I put your link on that exchange link page, that’s mean you’ll get the back link from that post page which it’s PR is not PR4 and backlink from only that one page!
  See the different?
  The homepage PR and the post page PR is not the same!!!
  Sorry for shouting.
  I was too emotional…
  While she is pointing to your blog from a mere PR page, you’re pointing her blog’s homepage from all of your domain(Sidebar is spread all on your domain)!
  Now, is that fair?
  NO!!!

So, don’t exchange link with this people. Remove his/her link from your sidebar now. If she ask, ask her to put your link on sidebar, header, or footer which is spread all on her domain.

And what is this connecting to linkfarm?
For those who cheat people like this, that page of exchange link is indeed a link farm because, you don’t have content but all links.
